Yeah Celt it does....but the one I was thinking of was the opening riff to Summer Nights from the Grease soundtrack....can't believe nobody spotted that!!!!

:D :D :D

Vic
I can't believe you listened to that soundtrack, up until that statement I thought you were a gentleman of refined taste. :P Does sound almost exactly like Hang on Sloopy

Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

It's hard sometimes to avoid the soundtrack from Grease (or Vaselina as it was called in Greece!) when the Mrs and the daughter have it on CD, DVD and VHS and still want to watch the film every time it's on the telly...

:( :( :(

Thought this thread was dead, but we went to a pub quiz tonght....one section, the quizmaster played intros and maybe a snatch of vocal....anyway, one record came on , we looked at each other and said "Brown Sugar"....sounds like a live version....

Till the vocals started, then we were totally lost....

Turned out it was the Dandy Warhols...Bohemian Like You....best Brown Sugar rip-off I've heard yet....

:D :D :D

There are a few songs where I can't tell the difference between Jagger and Van Morrison

And yet another Stones rip-off just came to mind....Primal Scream's "Rocks Off"....title nicked from Exiles on main street, riff lifted from "Sympathy For The Devil"....

THat Oh so amazing guitarist Kurt Cobain  (that's sarcasm kids)

Smells Like Teen Spirit. Is practically a blatant rip-off of Boston's More Than A Feeling.

Although the funniest one I think was Vanilla Ice's blatant ripoff of the bassline from Queen's Under Pressure. What makes it hilarious is that they were on the same label.......

ummm....Just heard Ozzy on thr Radio, "Mr Crowley"....anyone else noticed the similararity between the first bit of the solo on this, and the solo on "the Final Countdown" by Europe (I actually LOATHE that song, but it appears on just about every 80's compilation CD there is for some reason......

Rahul, file this one under "Trivia" rather than games....

Interesting. I'll have to give that a listen.

Of course hit the blues. Mannish Boy-Muddy Waters and I'm a Man-Bo Diddley Damn near carbon copies of each other. Still some controversy as to whom released what first. :D

This may or may not be one. Listneing to Sunshine of Your Love and Voodoo Chile (slight return) I swear I'm hearing Jimi basically play SOYL backwards. could just be me though.

Well , one thing to tell you all guys , since i listen to hindi songs too , i find a lot of them being copied entirely (the musical track) and made into a hindi song.Sometimes it sounds good and sometimes real crap.

Does any one of you listen to hindi songs ?(what about you vic :D )

DUH. I was trying to expand my Cream knowledge, cause I only love about 20 of their songs, and the rest I don't really know. (They didn't have too many anyways) And I came upon Lawdy Mama. I thought it was a joke, it's a carbon copy of Strange Brew!!
