Is a power chord a chord??

The Power chord belongs to the distorted Electric IMO. It just don't sound the same on the Accoustic.
If I was to whip out My Tele and play Wild Thing (distorted), I could definitly get away with:

G5///C5//D5/C5//G5///

Put down the Tele and pick up the Accoustic, then it needs to be:

G///C//D/C//G///

They sound great banged out hard on a reso. Resos produce their own acoustic distortion. 8)

Yes, but I also use them on a number of bluesy tunes or rock tunes on the acoustic. Examples: the acoustic version of "Revolution" or "Parachute Woman" by the Stones.
