I was sitting in my finance class, which was boring as hell. And in the two hours I scribbled this out in my notes. I can barely play guitar, but I seem to always have things running through my head. Other than a song I wrote about how much I hate finance that was more of a joke, this is my first written down song. I'm just wondering what people think?

I like some of the ideas that you have going on here with the whole reason you never find love is that you're too shy to even take a chance. You just sit back and find your own excuses. Good idea.
But honestly, and it could just be me so take it for what its worth, I could do without the lines like:
Three hells of a lot better.
and
that son of a female canine
and
I'll gather up my balls
It detracted from the song in my opinion. You could easily say "A whole heck of a lot better", "Played the game cheated to get her", "Ill gather up my nerves" something like that and it would be just as cool.
Please don't take it wrong...I think you have some good stuff started....Those just kinda took away from the song for me.

I like it - it's a little rough around the edges, but that's to be expected for your first lyric - well done!
I've got to agree about 'Three hells of a lot better' and 'that son of a female canine' (although I assume you didn't originally write that!). Just don't quite fit.
Personally I liked 'I'll gather up my balls and get it right' though - the tone of what you're saying seems to change a little at 'We don't belong together' and for me that one was OK.
Plus it's a good way of putting it, actually!
Anyway, good stuff - keep writing!!!
