Hi mc flyfan and welcome to the musical mad house
basic song structure goes as follows :
Verse -> Chorus -> Verse -> Chorus -> Bridge -> Verse -> Chorus
try to keep with the topic I mean
Verse 1
tell about the subject
Rhymns ? a lot go like this lines 1,3,5 and 2,4,6 ( groups rythm )
is that understandable ?
chorus pulls everything togther and has substance
Verse 2
we are telling more about the subject ( feelings ?)
and so on and so on
hope this has helped
remember "there is always more than one way to skin a cat"
cheers

If youve got a verse written, put music to it. If you dont play, tap your foot or beat your pen on your 4head, something to create a rythm. You can work on melody when youre figuring out how to sing it. If you do play, by all means work out your chord progression. Try this once you hit a lyrical snag. Its a good way to take a break from the song while your still working on it. It helps to pull your head out of the cloud of confusion that will lead you to write a song no one understands.
just dont put it down and forget about it
