Here's a rather crazy song. I just wrote it and I'd really love to get some feedback on the lyrics. I posted a song earlier in the sunday songwritin club forum that has a more simplistic style. This one is, hmm, I dunno. I'd love to get feedback though, it'll make me really happy =).

Don't fly and get stuck like glue to the sky

I need someone to turn to
and an invisible arm around me
for I'm in pieces,
you see it goes that way
it begins, then it seethes and releases
and all religions flaunt their answers
but none of those answers is mine
i need a perfect friend this time
not just another starving sign
the shiny pearls are opaque
and the theatres are closed down
that neon smile in Manhattan was a fake
but of course
history has nothing at all to forsake
I can't find you in our churches
I'm not even sure who you are
for Lucifer's the Morning Star
aND the poets have already bent their birches

so bring the wine that was water
bring the peace that was war
but here I stand holding on
to this old artefact once more

Aladdin took me to the wailing wall
just to hear the sound
I clung to five pristine pillars
as the waves of sight spun around
there must be an ivory goddess
that this earth originates from
as virgine white as polar snow
with laughter like the ecstacy
of every era time will know
I sought her in the forest
way too near the enchanted ring
my safety was haunted in the phoenix' nest
i sought her shaking by a window
starin' at a blinding airplane wing
and always this comfort, always this warmth
is what drives me insane
when Set eventually wins and ends
every day of pain

so bring the wine that was water
bring the peace that was war
but here I stand holding on
to this old artefact once more

Every answer I love and every dream
I've collected from my fountains of delight
returns like the dove
who'll never tell of fortune
with an empty beak
Is a goddess nothing for this world
are we all just too weak?

so bring the wine that was water
bring the peace that was war
but here I stand holding on
to this old artefact once more

i like it! im a big fan of new age interesting lyrics, to see other bands that use the same style go to songmeanings.net and look up 'the shins' 'something for kate' 'say hi to your mom'

people have made a hugely successful career out of cryptic 'weird' lyrics :D
