This is about someone who always got along with everyone. Everything came easy for him, but he was not whole. He comes to faith and loses a lot of those around him that he knew.
Faith has a worldly price....but is well worth paying....
Anyways...any critique would be welcomed. In my mind it has a kinda Incubus feel...kinda chilled in the verses and Heavy in the chorus.
Verse 1
Since I was a young boy
I played the part
Star of the show, charades and acting
Nothing from the heart
Verse 2
Easy come with a worldly mind
Thoughts were filled in reverie
Now I dream of a life fulfilled
I'll show you brother that I kneel
Chorus
Please excuse me, while I pray
I hope I do not offend you
Please excuse, me while I pray
If none go with me I'll still choose
Verse 3
Friendships fold (the truth revealed)
No time for courtesies
No more hiding what I feel
No aiming to please
Verse 4
He has led me by example
Driven nails, the Blood, the thorns
Crowds will gather don't conform
Time to shine and be transformed
Chorus
Please excuse me, while I pray
I hope I do not offend you
Please excuse, me while I pray
If none go with me I'll still choose
SOLO
Chorus
Please excuse me, while I pray
I hope I do not offend you
Please excuse, me while I pray
If none go with me I'll still choose
Chorus Out…
I don't think I'm a lot dumber than you think that I thought I once was - White Goodman (Dodgeball)
Cool song, easy to understand and truthful. Take care Nite......
lyrics belong in songs, poems bolong in bookstores
it's all there, I like it, but I did have to read through twice to really take it all in, which isn't always the best quality in a sung lyric
I don't follow my dreams, I just ask em' where they're going and catch up with them later.
