H! GNuts
Today I was going through some of my old stuff and I cam across a birthday card given to me by my history teacher in school. We were the best of friends and he was a father figure for me. Sadly he passed away prematurely (he was in his 30s). When I went through the card today I just felt like writing. And this song is kinda a love/heartbreak song but I dedicate it to him. The melody riff is repeated throughout the song. I'm trying to post the mp3 somewhere. For now here are the tabs

e |----------0---------------0----------------0---------------0-------|
B |------3-----3---------3-----3-----------2---2-----------2---2-----|
G |----2---------2-----2---------2-----0---------0-----0---------0---|
D |--------0-------0-------0-------0-----0---------0-----0---------0-|
A |--2----------------2-----------------------------------------------|
E |------------------------------------3---------------3---------------|

Repeat this twice maybe...

Free Souls

I walk away
from that day
n as you fade
your memory is all thats left
now I wait
for another time
another day
I guess you're just fine (now)

those broken dreams
and those torn wings
are just ghosts of a buried past
now it seems
that you have become
my hope that'll always last

(Some kinda humming for 1 bar)

I can say
that I don't miss you anymore
coz you're a heartbeat now
I have shut those doors
And one fine day
when the morning wakes up
maybe, you'll be there
oh my sweetest hopeless love

those broken dreams
and those torn wings
are just ghosts of a buried past
now it seems
that you have become
my hope that'll always last
though you're never coming back
I'll still wait here all alone
untill I fall down in pieces
like those dead roses on your stone

I close my eyes
and let you go
you're my prayer
you're a free soul, now...

The song ends with the last verse above. So tell me how's it? In the meantime I'll keep looking for the mp3 web hosts.

this is a nice lyric AlterEgo
I cant quite imagine how the while thing is sung over the same guitar riff, as the lyrics seem to change their internal rhythm as the song progresses. otherwise, i dont see any problems at all :)

aah, there u r sozay! so some1 did find the time to review my stuff. Thanx a lot sozay. I change the melody of the chorus while singing but the riff stays the same. of course this is juz the basic first cut thing to juz let me sing along. guitar parts'll be added in due time. thanx for the link. i'm already using bravenet.com for web hosting but my connection's too slow to lemme upload 3-5 mb mp3 files :(
btw, this forum is not what it used to be anymore, every1 is rushing up to get their songs posted and reviewed without contributing to the "community". of course, I too am guilty of it, so lets do something about it people?

Nice lyrics, very heartfelt, and I love that melody line..........

I do seem to be having a little trouble marrying the two together, though....I'll have another run through or two, try it a couple of different ways......let you know how I get on......
