i think when i write a song it's either from an experience i've had,or i've just got this weird/wonderful subject in my head and i end up writing a poem on it,and then i find i'll change the poem into song form,i personally think everyone works differently and has their own way of doing it,there will be people who can just think something random like... 'a tree' and come up with a song/poem about a tree.. and there will also be people who HAVE to be inspired by something to write a song,just my opinion and thats the way i work,im also always looking into things in great detail maybe a little too deeply at times but its the small details that make a song interesting :D
