i tryed out for our school play into the woods but i really messed that up so i bacame stage crew, but the tryouts i sang:
it take on to begin but then once you begun, it take two of you
it's no fun, but what needs to be done you can do, when theres two of you and so on
Hey, nice work. I think you were correct to suggest that it be played as a 50's piano piece. It would fit well. In other setting it might seem a bit cliche.
One thing I like to do when I realise that I'm being a bit predictable, is to keep it there, then add a twist. Like maybe it turn out that it's a pimp singing to one of his hookers, and the words are just words with no love in his heart, just dollars in his eyes. I realise that would totally ruin your sweet love song as is, but it would be interesting.
(If I was you I'd ignore my suggestion... my morbid mind just got the best of me and I had to share... the song is pretty good the way it is.)

I like the song. It is very well written. There is only one thing. I allready know a song called 'it takes two'. Try to write songs that are totally new. So you can make your own personal style.
