v1
When I'd get out of school each day
I'd walk by Aldens Gambel store
Stare into the window
At that red bike on the floor
v2
With a big smile I'd run on home
Ask mamma every single day
If she would buy me that red bike
She'd always say if there was some way
chorus
Each night I'd lie and say a prayer
That Red bike would soon be mine
I'd ride it thru the neighborhood
A long sissy bar,Bannana seat that'd shine
The girls would ask me for a ride
And I'd always happily oblige
I thought it would change my life
All dreams and hopes on a shiney red bike
v3
Friday mom went shopping for some clothes
For a job interview at the factory
She was more excited than I'd ever known
It was good to see her so happy
v4
I said mom how did shopping go
She said better than expected
I got just what I was looking for
She was happy by that smile I detected
chorus
Each night I'd lie and say a prayer
That Red bike would soon be mine
I'd ride it thru the neighborhood
A long sissy bar,Bannana seat that'd shine
The girls would ask me for a ride
And I'd always happily oblige
I thought it would change my life
All dreams and hopes on a shiney red bike
v5
After church I walked by Aldens store
That red bike wasnt there no more
I ran home with tears in my eyes
Opened up the door and to my surprise
Chorus
There stood that shiney red bike
With a bow on the handle bars
Mom was ironing an old dress
A pink one with bright yellow stars
I said mom that money
Was meant for you
She just smiled
And said, thats what mammas do

Repeat first chorus

Good song Nite!

I really liked the line
And said, thats what mammas do

I might be cool to incorporate that into the chorus somehow.

Just a thought...

I thought it would change my life
If momma would buy me that shiney red bike

that would tie it in at the end pretty cool....either way I like it!

Be Blessed!

Greg
