From a chequered past
we see the land and how it came to be
A solitary stone of cold and thrown
Into a sea of simple dreams

Whats held now, beneath the bow
Of age and pale and loss
With passing phase and mindless gaze
A glimpse of time long ago

Step over the edge
A falling scree
Thoughts whip away precaution
The sky falls and we begin again

Hope is cast, our bodies cant last
a winter quite like this
go, begin and hold again
Another passing earth

Powerful imagery. Though the number of syllables from line to line varies a lot. Not sure if that's bad. Hard to say without hearing it.
