Practice with a metronome and keep slowly increasing the tempo.
Don't move up in tempo until you can play whatever you are soloing pefect at that speed first.

Basically, before you even touch your guitar, work out what exactly you want to do. If its speed, then think how you would like your speed to increase, then write yourself an exercise to help you with area. Its much more effective than finding any information on the internet, as its more personal to your weaknesses.
