The structure carries through to the parts with the same number of lines

intro: Am Am7 F F(with no pointer finger at all)

(every 2 chords is one 4/4 measure)
Am F
I dont know but I been told
Am F
That at the end when youve grown old
Am F Am F
you dont really die you just float

And I dont really know the way
I think you take a class one day
and then you can walk the road

(here each line is one 4/4 measure)
Am G C C
But I still cant find my way
Am G C C
So were gonna make em pay

F G Em F
When we hit the streets they wont know what hit 'em
F G C
Well plant it like a seed
F G Em F
And the world will rejoice and cry out with one voice
F G C
This is the land of the fuckin' free

Till then im wanderin' the world
and lookin for the tracks that curl
'round the corner to the promised land

Under the blanket of the alley smoke
Ill pocket it inside my coat
and drop the money in his hand

Thank God I can finally
Blind myself from me

And the spark turns to flame, to make all the days the same
till your floatin' like your made of steam
And we'll all drive in the lanes and fly crashing planes
So you better steer clear of me

Well I wandered a bit too far down
Past one too many troubled towns
Still searchin' for that burnin' tree

It came to me while dreaming last
I saw my all too troubled past
Before you came back to haunt me

Why Haven't I seen your face
Since our lips parted that day

Everyone I knew before has moved on up and out the door
and left me to my ways
But im getting much better at actin' myself
So I think Ill be ok
