67 ES335 (have)
American standard Strat
Les Paul Standard
Firebird 63 non-reverse (had)
62 Gibson SG (had)

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming......

I resolved then that I would never let it go no matter what.

Yeah. I'm pretty much the same. I love my first axe and would never consider getting rid.
Slash could stand outside my door begging me to swap my Kay for his entire collection and give me free lessons 40 hours a week for the rest of my life, and I'd still keep it.

Hmmmm. On the other hand.

My list:

1. Yamaha Pacifica (tick)
2. Gibson Les Paul Standard (soon to be ticked - if Mrs Chuckster can be persuaded  )
3. Gibson ES 335 (or similar)
4. Fender Strat (white - white ones are cooler and sound better - fact. )
5. erm.. No that's it. I'm easily pleased.

Great thread by the way.

8)

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.
It was them that turned me to drink.

All the following would be left-handed:

Fender Strat with soft-V back of neck, Duncan Vintage Stacks, 7-way wiring, probably that Fender system
Fender Tele with soft-V back of neck, Duncan Vintage Stacks
Gibson LP Custom, Heritage Cherry
Gibson SG Standard, Cherry
Guild X-170 Manhattan Archtop

But that's just today :)

Oh I reread the other posts: someone mentioned the Gibson double-neck!

I think everything else would be the same except to take out the SG Standard. Unless someone wants to count the double-neck as two (which is okay with me!), in which case I'd lose the Les Paul too. :)

I will simply come and steal this collection. :P

To be serious, I have never played an electric, but as the sound/image I have, maybe the following ones -

1. Gibson LP Standard
2. Fender USA Strat
3. Fender USA Telecaster
4. Gibson LP Junior Custom
5. Gibson ES-335

All of the above left-handed. So anyone ready to lend me the money, repayable after 250 years without any interest ?

Try an email Rahul - just send it to a few 100 million people

"Dear Mr / Mrs. I am the late son of the advisor of the former president of Nigeria. I would like to present to you a great business opportunity ... etc."

Simple as that - the money will strat coming in before you know it ;-)

That's hardcore! I would trade my entire collection for Slash's in an instant!

My first guitar was a complete piece of crap.
I didn't say it wasn't crap, just that I wouldn't trade it

It is so true that this list is simply "today's list" and it will inevitably change...

In no particular order:

1 - Gibson 335
2 - Hamer Monaco Elite
3 - Down and dirty 1970's Fender Tele Custom
4 - PRS Swamp Ash Special with Maple neck
5 - Jackson USA Soloist

-=- Steve

Fender Strat MIA
Gibson LP
Gibson LP Double Cut
Ibanez RG
Fender Tele MIA

Ofcourse this is asuming that I win the lottery. I really couldn't justify having that many expensive guitars. Maybe one expensive guitar, probably the America Strat. The rest would be knock offs. And the Squier '51 would have to be in the pile somewhere.

You are right, but not.

The post asked for only five guitars. If it says twenty, then you can include the other brands.

I bought a Strat but have mixed feelings on it. Nice and light, good playability. The tone is kinda meh though. I can't see myself getting a Tele. Not much for singlecoils.

I'd trade my first guitar in a heartbeat. I'd even pay someone to take it off my hands.
