hi all
seems from trying to find this chord that there are a million different opinions on this.
I am inclined to think its x00200 but am I right?
help appreciated..
Matt
Start with your basic A9 - that's A-C#-E-G-B. Then replace the third with the fourth (to get a sus chord), and you have A-D-E-G-B.
That happens to be the open strings of a guitar :)
There are other ways to play it, of course. The 'essential' tones are the D (wouldn't be a sus without it), the B (wouldn't be a 9th without it), and the G (otherwise it's an add9). It would be typical to include either the A root, the E fifth, or both. So any grip that gets you A-D-G-B, D-E-G-B, or A-D-E-G-B will be a 'correct' fingering.
Your voicing, A-D-A-B-E, really needs to have a G in it... otherwise you can't tell the difference between A9sus and Aadd9sus.
