im looking to put a pickup in my jumbo epiphone. I want one that u cant see, so no soundhole pups. How good are the under bridge style ones. Im looking at the Fishman AG series. I want a strap cable plug style and dont want a preamp controls on the guitar. Any suggestions?

The under-saddle ones can get a little 'quack' from the piezo, but they're okay. I've used the stick-on ones - K&K - but have them on the outside of the body. You can mount them internally too. They have combos off piezos/undersaddle too.

As far as controls not being mounted in the body, there's these http://www.fishman.com/products/details.asp?id=86 which I haven't tried, but looks like a cool idea; the controls ring within the soundhole.

ive heard good things about K&K transducers...was gonna get a system for my Martin, but then my parents bought me my Fender with Fishman piezo for Christmas a few years back, and my Martin remains untouched.

Oh, and I've found with a decent preamp in the guitar and an acoustic amp with a 3band EQ, you can tweak it to the point where the quack is at a minimum.

I just bought a Sunrise. I didn't try it out much yet as I don't have the end pin jack yet , but I hooked it up temporary into my lil Marshall amp & it sound pretty awesome. It would be better through an acoustic amp.

Can any tell me what a preamp will do for me, such as the small Fishman that goes for about $120.?
