bought an acoustic guitar today. an all-mahogany alvarez. it has a really warm, deep sound to it, and though i didn't notice when i got the thing(since the power was out in the store) it's beautiful. it cost me $245 usd after tax, and i am happy with it, although it sounds brighter outside of the store. i'm going to go play with it now.
Alvarez makes good guitars. I own two myself -- an acoustic and an electric. Good choice.

I played a couple Alvarez's last night while I was waiting for my guitar to be setup. I think I plucked around on a RD8 and one of the electric/acoustics (can't remember the model number). Both seemed like very nice guitars for the price. Fit and finish was very nice on all of them.
