I'm buying a set a brass bridge pins from someone through craigslist on Wednesday. They're not expensive so i thought it's worth a shot. They're supposed to give your guitar a better sound. Anyone know anything about this?

Brass was used as a cheaper alternative to bone back in the day.
Brass will vibrate a lot and increase the highs, which usually results in the guitar sounding thin and harsh.
The overall tone of my old acoustic improved dramatically when I replaced the brass saddle and pins with Tusq.
The nut is still brass, but that only affects open notes.
