I think the pinky works fine, but there's no real advantage to using it. Very rarely will you find yourself short on fingers. I started using mine on the bass, and that's carried over into my guitar playing a little. I just think it's fun to use; I don't really find it useful.

a well known one with lotsa tabs and information is classical gas- eric clapton it sounds alot harder then it actually is

No advantage, it's too short. I wouldn't use it at all, unless you're doing spanish ultra fast tremolo, and even then I personally wouldn't use it. Pinkie sucks for fingerpicking, trust me.

Tremelo is done p-a-m-i - the pinky doesn't get used
