I've just been reading an article about a London club that is a sort of living shrine to Django Rheinhardt and his music. Every Tuesday night is jam night and anyone can join and play - one of the regulars is Hank Marvin, who is heavily into Django-style music.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

Of course I've heard about Django for years, but never listened to any of his stuff. I was surprised how much of it sounds like "Western Swing," which I guess after all is just swing.

Wie wäre es mit der Seite: Django Swingpage?

Und herzlich Willkommen in der Irrenanstalt!

Danke Museenfreund, does Irrenanstalt mean internet ?

Irrenanstalt = madhouse

I refer to this place as the musical madhouse!

Wow, nice videos. I wonder, did he play with his 2 fingers or also using his 'burned' fingers ? :?:

Hum..

Supposedly he used the injured fingers some, but just briefly watching those videos will show that he did nearly all of it with the two fingers. Moved 'em fast!

I'm afraid I know of no others that this one...

A truly inspiration guitarist, and one who changed Jazz playing, and even guitar playing forever. If only I could find any of his recordings!

If you're a music downloader you can find music. I just checked iTunes and they are loaded with Django.
