I am to the point where my chord changes are good and clean, and I really like this song.
I would like to just strum along to it as it plays. But I can't seem to find a pattern that sounds good to me.
But that might be because as you said it's a finger picking song.
I don't know

I just tried five different patterns to strum it and they all worked fine. The most pleasing one was close to the fingerpicking rhythm:
Beat:
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
Strum:
D D U D U D U

But you can use, literally, dozens of patterns. It's hard to believe you can't find one you like. Maybe it's because you need to let the patterns change slightly over the course of the song instead of playing one throughout the whole thing?

Peace

PS - and apologies for moving this post, but it didn't belong on that page to begin with...
