I have made on line purchases from guitar strings to new guitars, drums, new and 'blemished' recording gear and have yet to get anything less than I expected.
I bought a new 'blemished' Peavey combo amp advertised at $399 new. The 'blemished' was offered for $339. I received it in 2 days. I figured they were in a hurry to get it to the sap who bought it...me. :D
To my surprise, the only thing blemished was the box it came it. The amp was/is mint. The power cord wasn't even unwrapped so I have no idea what was wrong with it. So for saving $60, I couldn't be happier. Same deal with a Fostex digital recorder I got 'blemised.' I saved over $100 and it had a damaged box. The plastic was still over the digital readout for goodness sake.
Moral...I've been very lucky so far....hehehe.

Is it really bad to buy acoustics off the web? i've heard thats the most likely to have something wrong with it.
