Can someone tell me ways to identify my Epiphone G-310. I can get pictures if that helps any.

This is the Gibson Blue Book entry on Epi s/#s - the official publication on the subject... It's a .pdf file - if you don't have Adobe Reader you can download it here.

It's good but doesn't cover modern Epi's.
For eg I want to know how old my BB King is, I suspect it is slightly older than the 2 years I was told, but have been unable to find out.

Go here, click on "Epiphone" in the right hand frame, then enter your serial number on the page that will appear.
This is not an official site, but there are few people who know Epis as well as one of their contributors, BobSkippy.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

cheers Greybeard, but I've tried it before, serial unrecognised. Again it doesn't seem to cater for modern Epis :(

Edit: Just checked the FAQ and it suggest the guitar was made July 01! :)
On an associated note, can anyone register on the Epiphone forums? I keep getting a 'new registrations not allowed at the moment' message

Duff, yup :D

Last Sunday I decided to restring my Epiphone Les Paul, didn't know what guage strings to use to match the original setup. So I wrote Gibson at: service@gibson.com and they corresponded back in 10 minutes with the info. They say they will try answer any question regarding their product within 24 hours . This was Sunday aft, a really quick response. Try them and see if they will provide the info. A friend wrote them about his 40 year old accoustic and got a detailed answer back. Give them the model and serial number.

Do you mean about membership? It's likely that they have closed the forum, other than to existing members. This was on the cards 3 years ago, so maybe the implemented it.
It's probably why the external site was set up.
