I've seen this in many many tabs where you are sliding either a single note or powerchord and the slide symbol is there but there is also a tie that to me would indicate either a pull off or hammer on.

How do you do both at the same time?

I normally just do the slide part. Is that how your suppose to play it or am I missing something.

It is a slide.
The tie indicates that the second note is not picked.
With the slide symbol you accomplish it via a slide.

Thanks that's how I've been doing it.

Now what about when there's just a slide indicated without the tie are you supposed to pick that second note?

I would say no to that as well.
Just slide up or down.
There are quite a few ways to TAB a song and IMO. both methods with or without the tie really mean the same thing.
