I swapped out the pickups on my JT for a hotter set. It definitely looks meaner now but if I could only post the way it sounds. The difference is night and day. Unfortunately it'll be at least another week before I am recording again. I'm gonna try and post some pics. If these links don't work, you can check them out here: http://hue.dmusic.com/pictures

I tried. The only thing is I wired the coil tap so that the pick ups are in phase. It's a bit noisy but it sounds great. Not sure if I want to sacrifice the tone for a quieter beast. Somehow, I don't think it's worth it to rewire.

Nice guitar Hue, what kind of pickups are those?

Vacate is the word...Vengance has no place on me or her...Cannot find a comfort in this world.

Very nice guitar, Hue. Can't wait to hear a sound bite from it.

Did it have the dirty finger pups in it?

The pickups? It had stock pickups. Not sure what they were. Just standard low output humbuckers. They weren't that great sounding but they did the trick. I had a picture of the original pups but I can't seem to locate it. These new ones are also generic but they have higher output and generally sound better. Well, considerably better sounding. With the coils tapped, I get a pretty "jangly" sound similar to a telecaster. I can't really explaing the way they sound. I'll have to just post a clip once I get my recording setup again. Just waiting on shipment now. I've downsized a lot. I may invest a bit more money in a real tube preamp or just a good tube mic with a proper power supply. I'm thinking Rode NTK or Studio Project TB1. Possibly a Soundeluxe if I can scrape up the cash. I don't want to spend too much cash on recording anymore. I just want to keep it simple.

Interesting. What are the wires coming out of the rear pup mounting hole to the bridge? Grounding connections? Whatever the case, if you are leaving it that way, might want to consider running them under the pup ring -- just file a little slot under the ring to pass them easily.
