I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the guy did it on purpose. I think he had a piece of crap neck and fretboard around, made it crappier, and posted it to see what kind of response he would get.

My guess is, he's laughing harder than the rest of us :)

His pictures of an obviously destroyed neck and asking if it was still playable... a bit over-the-top.

Amazing how mean the people at that site are...I've thought so for a long time. I'm a member (with a different "handle" there), but rarely visit it. Hostile environment.

I kinda agree with you on that one, because i don't believe someone would go THAT FAR... unless they were digging for gold in the fretboard or something  .

Indeed Richochet, I've never seen the site before, but I have no plans to return.

I always thought scalloping would be a cool mod but I never had the guts to do it :P

He either did it on purpose or is a lot like my 13 year old brother ;) I could really see him doing that.

I think its fretboard made out of chocolate dung.(hell, what's that), and if its wood , it would be simply great to slide on it.What a rock and roll ride.Don't use bottleneck though , I meant sliding with titanium.(and what brand of strings - Carbon fibre or what? :D  8) :? )
Man ,this fretboard deserves a place at Madame Tussade's

I thought it was funny as heck...especially the comments.

I wonder if the whole thing wasn't a joke to get this type of "attention"

If it is real then I don't think the comments are mean...what did he expect people to tell him nice job?

I think all he wanted to know was if it was still playable actually, if he's being serious that is.

I think it would be playable if it had a body attached to it. Quality is another issue

The reason I think is is more of a joke is because someone that incompetent would not have taken the time to remove the neck to work on it.

Perhaps it did have a body - maybe that's all that's left.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?
