onewingangel.congrds on your new acoustic. I like having mine for some of the same reasons as you (too lazy...).

just unscrew your trem are counterclockwise. some feel a need to block the trem with a piece of wood to make the guitar more like a hardtail.
you dont have to.
using your palm mute hand you can get mild tremelo by your hand pressure. subtle stuff, but nice.

whenever i grab my acoustic i usually play songs that were around when I was starting. so I can olnly recomend old stuff...
Wild Horses, Dead Flowers, Parachute Woman, Street Fighting man, and You Cant Always Get What You Want by the Stones are great acoustic numbers.

I dont have Tabs, but Ive got lyrics and chords if you want em.

another hing I do is to play electric songs acoustic style. sometimes th tempo is changed to make it sound right. Ive found that really good songs, meaning well wrttien and composed, can make that transition well. it helped me appreciate good song crafting.

Well I finally got a pic of my acoustic and decided to post it. Not sure what that smoking streak is coming off it though, wasn't there when I took the picture.

I also have a couple questions, first of a silly newbie question. I don't have to worry about tuning one string and changing the pitch of all the others do I like I did on the electric? Second, can a heating vent damage the guitar? No, I don't have it right above the vent.

what a coolo looking guitar. that smokey streak looks like a ghost. maybe some dead guitar hero is lurking.

acoustics are differnt than electrics when it comes to strings etc.
you can tune individual strings without changing the pitch of the others.
one thing that does happen, especially with brand new strings, is that when coming to pitch with one string another may lowewr in pitch or raise in pitch. that's because te strings are stretching out yet and the tension on the neck changes. they do settle in after a few rounds of playing.
you can remove all the strings at the same time, contrary to myth, without hurting anything. I use that time to clean the fuzz from under the strings.
just dont store the guitar stringless.
keeping the guitar away from sunlight windows, heating vents is a good idea. I keep my acoustics in the cases when not in use.
I like being able to grab my acpoustic and play something without having to set up the amp, and effects and plug. you mentioned that once too. it doesnt take that much time to pop the case for ypour acpustic.
it will stay healthier if cased. it's hard sometimes because I love looking at mine. oh well.

if you plan open tuning or down tuning check out a string gauge guide to determine the correct gauge strings to use. it is really important to porper gauge strings on acoustic.

enjoy your wonderful guitar.
