This is an afterschool program here, not the real music course. I'm just taking it to learn, not for credits. Ensemble performance exists here as well and I play second alto saxophone in that. :D

Do look into what your school has. They might have options available that no one has thought to ask about recently
My son's school has a Jr High band which has electric guitar(this year the guitar player is using a strat), bass and drum kit, in addition to the brass, woodwinds, keys and percussion.
Last year during the Christmas concert (theme: Polar Express) the band played Crazy Train (!) in addition to being the "pit orchestra" for the younger classes' vocal performances.
