I didn't know where else to post this, so here goes: Anyone know what's required to open a .TAB file? The only references to that extension that I could find on the 'Net were about tabbed spreadsheets or something that works with Excel.
I can deal with .PTB or .GP3 and higher, but this is a new one to me. Apparently it's the only format for one of the OLGA mirrors. (The mirror in AU uses .GZ, GunZip. If I can download one, WinZip Classic may open those.)
I s'pose if this was too easy, it wouldn't be any fun, right?

Have you tried opening it in Notepad. It might just be a plain text file. Even if it's not, it might give you some hints.

It's an ordinary text file that an editor will open. The ending is for "tablature" and there is another file type ".crd" for chords

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Ah ha! Okay, I'll try it. (I use EditPad, a pretty cool little app, for .TXT files.)
Thanks for the info, all.
