The good news is that in 30 years you will be able to tell everyone how cheap things were today.
Thats what I'm afraid of.
Our songs also have the standard pop format: Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, bad solo. All in all, I think we sound like The Knack and the Bay City Rollers being molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath.

So the moral to the story is buy everything you can now while it is cheap
I remember back in the day when I got my first guitar, a 1962 Gibson SG special. Paid $125 for it, those were the days

This is the "Wall Of Historical Proportions" in the Ovation R & D room.
You can't see it very well but the furthest guitar back is the first Ovation. Moving up the line there are various prototypes for the all graphite, Adamas line. The red one is the fabled old #47.
This was the 47th guitar made of this model. For some reason (and they are still trying to figure out exactly why), this one was different. It became Charlie Kaman's favorite guitar and became the benchmark for the sound they are looking for.

Belly up to the bowl boys!!!!
Thirty Two years ago everything was cheap.

gunslinger, I am 50 so I remember filling up the 20 gal gas tank for under $5. gas was cheep, now $5 will only give me 2 gallons
:(
Here is a funny story that goes with the guitar. This is from the lady next door to my parents that I use to terrorize when my band came over to pratice, 72-73 range. We would crank up and let it rip @ 10 on saturdays I am sure she apperiated Led Zep, Grand Funk, Black Sabbith. I was chatting with her last weekend when my folks we moving and I told her I was going to learn classical. She offered me the guitar for free. Plays nice too, littile dark due to the laquor and cedar top. I do prefer a spruce top, but free is free. :D
Nils :) Yup you are right, buy now while it is cheep or you have the apporval from the boss!
tele, my 1st was a Sears Silvertone rip off of the SG jr. Single bucker dead in the center. Used $25

Now you have to be Bill Gates to be able to do that.

Ahh! My dream job. Bartending was a close second, especially since my boss told me it was always good to have a shot with your customers when they wanted.
