Yeah but you won't have to replace them that often i play almost everyday and i guess i've had the same 9v batt for about 5 months and it still sounds awesome.

You can change the original Epiphone pick-ups with EMG-HZ (passive) humbuckers... at least it did that and I can say that the sound it's closer to Kirk Hammet but it looses a bit of the fat les paul sound. It depends what you wanna play... i'm closer to Metallica and I play shit like that so changing the humbuckers really helped me. Anyway, the EMG hum looks great too and they were a deal (100$ both humbuckers - neck & bridge).
