I'm sure this has been answered before.. but why are the A blues and D#/Eb blues scales the same? The E blues and A#Bb scales?
Used to be, was a part of me felt like hiding.. but now it comes through. Comes through to you.

What do you mean "the same"?
A blues = A C D Eb E G
D# blues = D# F# G# A A#C#
Do you mean the same intervals between the notes? Or are you comparing two different types of blues scale?
He might just mean the physical shape of the scale. The way it plays out on the neck.... only in a different position. The intervalic relationship would be the same i think.
Naw.. not necessarily the shape. Because the shape is constant throughout the entire neck.
I mean physically the same on the fretboard. On the chordbook.com site it lists both the A blues and D#/Eb blues scales as starting on the fifth fret, then following the general make-up of the blues scales they've got:
(this is F:
1-4
1-2-3
1-2
1-3-4
1-4
1-4)
So if that site is correct, I don't see how you'd be playing different notes.

Thats strange. The blues scale is the same as the pentatonic with an extra note added in, so they would start out on the root note on the 6th string. it must be a typo. The C major pentatonic, and A minor pentatonic should look the same.
I just checked the site. Eb and E blues scales are wrong. Right sound - wrong frets.
