I was looking at the November Rain solo. I am having particular trouble with the legato parts. Its not that its too fast, I simply just can't get the phrasing. One measure has 18 notes in it, now I know how to count 16th notes, but what does it mean when there is three bars under the notes on the staff, instead of the usual two under sixteenth notes. Thanks for your help all.

I believe that would be 32nd notes and 4 bars would be 64th's

And I believe what he believes. So if you believe what I believe that he believes is correct, then you should be OK. Can you believe that?

Can't believe I just wrote that.....

What Sid said. It's just gets twice as short.

1/1
1/2
1/4
1/8
1/16
1/32
1/64
1/128
...
1/1024

Can't say I've ever seen anything faster then 1/32 but still.

I think the only thing that beats faster is a humming birds wings.

You fib. Drummers can't read. The drool gets in the way. :P

Back to our regularly scheduled post now.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW--What a Ride!"

Yeah, but I'm becoming a guitarist so I know some words.

Good question....as the old joke goes:

Q - How do you make a guitarist play quieter?
A - Put sheet music in front of him.

Q - How do you make him stop?
A - Put notes on it.
