I'm thinking about startin' up my own record label and have only researched it a little bit. i was wonderin if anyone has any useful insight, and would anyone be interested in partnering up for the start of the next big label?

First ask yourself whether you are a musician or a businessman. Most musicians who start their own labels do it only for their own product. The reason is simple: if you want to sign other acts, you'll have a lot of work to do. I mean a lot.
From finding the money to handling contracts to organizing distribution and promotion, you won't get a lot of sleep. I'm not saying all this to get you down on the idea: If you believe you can do it, then by all means, jump in and go for it: it can be very rewarding. This is just so that you know what you're getting into.
