I've got a Taylor 214 that's about 3 months old. It came equipped with Elixor(sp?) strings. It has a great sound to it and don't want to lose it. It's not time to change them yet, but I get a sense that it's not too far down the road.

So, my question is two part. Does anyone know what weight string came on these guitars?

Also, if I decrease the weight to make things easier for my old, beginner fingers, how much of what, if anything, will I lose?

on most guitars, you shouldn't change the string guge dramatictly without a truss rod adjustment, so you should probably change the guage by one one or two, but it probably came with Elixer nanoweb ultra-thin(i dont kow what guage ultra thin is, but it was on the Taylor website).
