Are you suppose to write a guitar part first or the lyrics. I have written tons of lyrics but i cant create a guitar part for it.Is there any trick to it.Well if anyone could give me advice about how to get the 2 together i would really appreciate it.
People do it both ways. In fact, "all ways".
There is no "should".
In my band, the singer writes his songs "vocals first", then guitar, then bass, lyrics last.
I generally write mine bass first, then guitar, then he adds vocals and finally lyrics. I have also written songs lyrics->vocals->guitar, but these tend to be more folky/countryish and unsuitable for our band.
Our guitarist works both ways, but typically guitar first, then bass, then our singer adds vocals and lyrics.
