Spped eh? One year eh? Cool, but if I could give you any advice at all, it would be to SLOW DOWN and play like Satriani. Then speed it up. If you worry about speed and are on the verge of playing like Satchman, then you will have a tendancy to become sloppy and miss alot. You've probably read or heard it a million times, but like a good mother I'll say it again......It's always better to play something slow until you got it down PAT, then build up the speed. Too many players take the other way around it and their playing suffers for it.

As for Yngwie's stuff, Good luck. It's fast and repetative, but takes a very skilled set of hands to play. No offense but I seriously doubt one year of playing would even get someone anywhere near that level of skill.
