Sweet bass but I'm sorry to point out, looks like frets are there or is that an image built into the fretboard? OK, so I'm new, gimme a break.

I'm not big on basses... but doesn't a fretless bass originate with a bass with the frets ripped off? With this, you could still have *accuracy* and play with that unique sound of a fretless bass... I think :?
I just skimmed through this really fast and read "Fretless Jazz Bass" as "Frettlesnazz Bass." I kinda like that. :D

It's fretless. Those frets you are seeing are just lines inlayed into the fingerboard for reference. It also has nice mother of toilet seat inlays as well. My other fretless has no markings of any kind. Now that is a challenge to play!
Thunderfingers, I absolutely love you screen name. Good times!
Welcome to GN. Oh - and I dig that SX bass. Good equipment for next to nothing.

Ah - so we have a father-son team on GN now? Just got it.
Welcome again. By the way, I went to your website and listened to a few of those tunes. The bass was rippin', but the old man's gotta start practicing.

All the fretless instruments seem to me very difficult to play.
Congrats! I like very much, very nice wood finish! :D
Hey Mr Bass Man ... nice gear, and welcome!
I had a Hofner Bass when I was in my teens (40+ years ago now!) just like the one McCartny used to play. I loved the sound even when the guitar was not amped up.
Have fun with the fretless.

I know you all won't believe this but I went out on a limb and bought a guitar. I know, shocked is the emotion of the moment. "Bish buying a guitar? Who'd a thought it?" You'll get over it.
Allow me to introduce the lastest addition to the guitar center at Bish's house. (No, it's not for sale yet either.)
This is listed on MF's site as $780.00. I took a chance on a blemished one for $596.00. I can't really find any body damage. There is some oxidation on the High E string and some oddities on the frets up past #12. I'm going to have a close up of them tonight but this thing is amazing.
What I'm starting to find out and maybe it's just me, but certain of my guitars, lend themselves to specific tasks. For example, when I play my deluxe strat, I want to play "A shape" barre chords all the time. When I play my Schecter I want to play dark sinister music. When I pick up this Ibanez, I want to rip face melting leads ... (something I'm very non-skilled at) at the moment. Funnier still, when I pick up my PRS I feel like it's ready to do it all.
Every guitar has a different feel, different response, obviously different tones and all play a bit different. This is really fun to be able to experience all these different brands and what they have to offer.
Thanks for reading my blabbing.

Very nice Bish! Please send us some sound test! :D
BTW I like very much the fret marks of the Ibanez.
Very nice looking guitars, both Bish and Blueline. Bish, your guitar buying pace is truly impressive. :) It's certainly no help in my own efforts to resist GAS, that's for sure! I'm going to have to hack my browser to add the phrase "(Student Loans!)" after your name just to keep myself in check. ;)
