I'm thinking about putting a Bigsby B5 Vibrato Kit on my Squier Black and Chrome Tele. Has anyone done this, It looks pretty straight forward. I found a video one You-tube that shows how its done. the only problem I can foresee is possible have to do a neck re-alignment.

I haven't, but understand the possible alignment issues. the Ichiban I have from Eastwood has a Jazzmaster type trem tailpiece, and it was not correctly aligned when I received it (though the bridge was). so the angle from the trem to the bridge was way out. but I liked the guitar, so took it apart, and found I had to move the trem nearly a centimeter! that meant adding a filler block and routing a bit to shift the hole in the body -- looked a lot like the video. good news was that because the bridge was correct, no neck re-adjustment required. I think the guy in the Bigsby vid understates the importance of positioning the bridge for string alignment. he also uses a hand drill for the bridge posts. I recommend a drill press to get truly perpendicular holes for those inserts -- unless you are damn good with a hand drill (I'm not).

other than that looks like fun.

oh yeah, that reminds me: I've got a spare Bigsby and roller bridge in my parts. now what guitar shall I try 'em out on ...

I still have one untouched. was thinking of painting it orange, doing the Bigsby and Gretsch-type 'buckers (also in parts) on it. might have to add leather and brand it, if I did all that.
