I recently purchased a new guitar, an Ibanez RG 470, and have never lowered the action on a guitar with a double locking whammy system. How do I go about doing this?

I own a rg320 and an rg550, and have some experience with adjusting them. However, the only effective, non-destructive way I know is to adjust the tremolo mounting post height.

very important is that you check to make sure your posts don't need, "unlocked" first. Do that by sticking the smallest hex key they give you down into the little hole and turn it counterclockwise. If it turns, then you can use the larger hex key that fits the actually hex shape you can see, and turn it clockwise a little at a time. That will lower the whole bridge, not just one saddle. And remember, do it a little at a time and make sure you adjust both posts. Lower it just enough so that there is no buzzing or fretting out of any fretted note.
