Hi I am refinishing a Korean made Gretsch Electromatic. It was bright red, I want to stain it a nice cherry wood finish. This is my first attempt at anything like this. I took all of the electonics out of it and I am having a little trouble putting them back. I have looked at a gretsch wiring diagram and I thnk I'm close but I don't know where that ground wire from the bridge goes. and do you have to ground the switches too? (1 tone, 1 Pickup selector). If so How?
I appreciate any help you guys can provide. Thanks

Lefty, you're just trying to up your post count!!!

Anyway, every electrical component should be grounded to a common ground location. The bridge ground can run to the back of the volume pot, which is probably where you're going to ground everything else.

Google "star grounding" for a better alternative. There's an article called "quieting the beast" on one of the guitar sites (maybe guitarnuts.com, IIRC) that will give you more details.

Good luck with the project!

Thanks for the help. Quieting the beast is full of info. Now I just need to put it to use.

I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions in the future.

Those little smiley faces sure are cute huh Lefty
