Hello, just want to ask you 2 question .…. i'm not new in set-up but I'm now confused because I want to change my string's gauge from 0.09-0.42 to 0.10-0.48 and I have never change my string gauge before.. so it quiet make me confuse…for the info, my guitar has a floyd rose bridge system…
And I've notice that my neck must be shifted because every time I play the low e string ,.it is always easily fall from the edge of the fingerboard…..
I have put the strings off from my guitar so that I can clean the fingerboard etc. so…
1. what steps should I do next ?is it like this?
step 1. cleaning my fretboard with a steel wool n a naphta
2.conditioning my fingerboard with the lemon oil
3.put the strings on (0.10-0.48) ..and tune it up to a normal tuning
4.set-up the floyd rose bridge so the base plate of the bridge parallel to the body
5.shifts the neck
6.set the string height/action
7.adjust the truss rod
8.set the string height again
9.set the intonation
10.set the locking nut height
11.set the pickup height
2. how can I know if my locking nut needs to be adjusted?
