is it a screw in or pop in?
if itss a a screw in then screw it in the hole,
if its a pop in then push it in the hole....
its a screw in, but when I go to screw it in, it doesn't seem to wan't to stay in. Did I get a tremlo arm thats to small?

American-made trems generally have a #10 x 32-thread-per-inch hole. Imports (like the Johnson and Samick) have a 6 millimeter hole, which the #10 will just drop into. (And fall out of.) http://www.allparts.com/categories.php?cat_id=608&cat_name=TREMELO%20ARMS
Great, that answers that. I'll return the trem arm I got and get the 6mm one. Thanks!

Lso get a spring from a click pen and put it under the trem it'll help it stay seated without spinning out.

sounds like a neat trick, I might have to try that.

How do I install one for a Strat? I screwed it in, but I am not hearing anything and that bridge is lying pretty low? *feels this might be a stupid question. leaves thread*
Hey astonefox,
Check that the trem unit is not blocked, take off the back plate and see if someone placed a block or wedge of wood between the inertia block (the part that the strings thread through) and the body of the guitar. A lot of strat players do this to eliminate the trem and to stabilize the tuning and improve the tone. My opinion is that a properly set up trem works really well and IMHO this is one of the things that make a strat a strat!
