hi all

I have been playing around with the action on my yamaha acoustic. I have shaved the bridge down as low as i dare go, now its time to give the truss rod a tweak.

Trouble is the nut is stuck solid - no amount of effort will shift it.

any solutions?

Matt

Whatever you do don't force it because all that is holding it on the other end is wood.

OK, assuming it won't turn in either direction it sounds like it is just frozen on the threads themselves so you can put a little penetrating solution on the threads and letting it sit for awhile and "penetrate". You can get this is any auto store and is made specifically for loosening a stuck nut on threads. If you have WD40 handy you can try that first.
