Yamaha classical neck repair question

Hello everyone! I just got a yamaha cg-131s from a buddy of mine and there is no truss rod! :( The neck is bent bad enough to where it can be played but it the action is reall high. is there any way i can attemp to straighten this neck out with maybe some pressure over a pierod of time? i would be greatfull for any tips anyone can give! Thank you!! :D

Not all classicals have or need truss rods, as the tension of nylon strings is low enough for 'truss-free' construction if designed and built correctly. Yamaha usually produces well constructed classicals. "Bent" covers a lot of ground, from warpage to neck-body joint failure to bellied top and lifted bridge, which might mimic a warped neck due to high action. We need pics or a better description to help you. Also, any idea how the damage occurred - e.g., bad environment, strung with steel string ...?
