A song about how much it sucks to play the same chords and licks over and over again. :P I'll take a chill pill soon, don't worry.

LOL!
This time I didn't need a translation!
Yeah, my playing and practice can have a certain sameness to them too.
I actually thought it sounded great; a rockin' barrelhouse (Kut)blues...I might have to work on that tonight...
:)

LOL!
Now that was fun.
I didn't realize how much you sound like Mark Knopfler.
Nice voice.
And since this board censors I bet I know the original title of your post.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

Great sounding boogie song. Reminded me of Long John Baldry's 'Boogie Woogie' (I think that's the name of the song).
It put a smile on my face.

Yeah Cool song!
Reminded me of Long John Baldry's 'Boogie Woogie' (I think that's the name of the song).

I think the full title is:

"Don't Try To Lay No Boogie Woogie On The King Of Rock And Roll"

Check it out here:

Anyways they are both great fun to listen to.

I recognized just one word at 1:47 which I can't repeat.

Arjen, that was a fun song to listen to, both the piano and guitar were very good. It sounded like you were having a good time when you played it.

Thanks people. 8)

Wes: That word is ironically enough not 'the F word' but the polite Dutch word for 'breeding': fok. It's very much an official term you'd mostly find for describing agricultural activities. The official term for a horse breeder would be 'paarden fokker' for example. Using it as slang makes in the Netherlands about as much sense as yelling 'breed you!' at someone in the States. I've a pretty cheap sense of humor and I like how a completely different language can charge Dutch words in a way that makes neither logical nor officially any sense. For example, 'modder' is Dutch for 'mud'. A very decent words you might read in a weathereport every day. You could paint a very nostalgic verbal picture where in the 'modder' some 'fokker' earns a hard but honest living. Read it to a Dutch politician and it'd be fine, read it to an American politician and he'd get all the wrong ideas. :P

Ignar,
Reading a thread on the Beginner's board brought some lyrics to mind.
And they fit Darn Blues (Kutblues)
Anyway, it was fun to write lyrics to "Darn Blues". Feel free to use them (or not) 8)
I'm adding (editing) more lyrics as they occur to me.
Chorus at end (to be added wherever)

Guitar Beginner

Pentatonic, Diatonic, 12 bar blues
Half-note, whole note
I'm gonna need a Muse

Stratocaster, Telecaster, Tremolo bar
Half-step, whole-step
What's the best guitar?

Syncopated strumming pattern, I'm not certain
Barre chord, open chord
(Ouch!) My fingers are hurtin'

Single coil, humbucker pups are new
Root note, muted note
Can I get that tab from you?

Practicing the major scales, finding notes on fretboard
Reverb pedal, heavy metal
Workin' on the F chord

Sounds not (that) good, not like it should, cheap guitar
Scales a bore, practice more
If I'm gonna be a Rock star

Chewin' gum while I strum, stayin' in beat
Metronome tickin, Travis pickin'
Also keepin' time with feet

Now I've got it! Yeh, I nailed it. Once again.
Oh darn, messed up
Finger flubbed it. Try (it) again.

Monophonic, polyphonic, arpeggio
Lydian, Dorian
All this I need to know?

Chromatic scale, transposition, open fret
Attenuate, accentuate?
I want to know what strings to get!

What's the tempo? Presto, largo or allegro?
A form scale, E barre chord
Are you sure all this I need to know?

Chorus
Are you sure all this stuff I need to know?
Are you sure? All this stuff?
I'm not sure all this stuff I want to know.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

awesome arjen. When are you going to come to Philly so we can play some blues, about playing the blues?

Is that you on the piano, or did you write it and the machhhhhhhhhine played it?

Either way, whole thing sounds awesome (maybe vocals are a bit too high in the mix?)
