I just got up and recording again. Here's about what I could do in a weekend. I hope it sounds ok. Let me know, good or bad, what you think. I can take the crit.

Thanks for listening.
hue.
P.S. Some of you might recognize parts of this. Especially gnease. Greg and I did a collab on part of this but it has been cleverly disguised in this version. See if you can catch it.
Really? Nobody? Hmmm. I didn't think it was that bad....:(
Maybe the links not working?
track is called Testing 1 2 3
The Hear Hear forum has been quite dead lately. Only 2 people posted in the cover of Sunshine of Your Love that Taso and I did.
Yours sounds excellent. I like the tone and your drum track is excellent. Speaking of which...do you write your own backing tracks or do you download them and then improv over them?
Great Job!
Thanks mike. It's all me. The drums I mishmashed together from loops. All the guitar is me and the bass is my guitar pitchshifted down an octave. Thanks for listening. I'm off to listen to your tune now.
Holy Cats!! Guess I've never heard you play before, but you blew me away.
I found the timing of the full stop (prob not the right terminology, but about 26 seconds in) a bit jolting, but MAN, this is some cool sounding stuff!
More, please!

Good work as usual, Hue!

Thanks Greg. I have to ask, did you recognize the end part at all? The chord progression should sound familiar. Where've you been?
Margaret: Thank you. I've been out of commission for about 6 months or more. I sold all of my gear then suddenly realized that I didn't want to quit. Ugh....lessons learned. Regarding the break: well. I really slapped this one together over a weekend. I never really intended to do this for any more than test purposes to see if I could achieve any passable results with what I have.
I listened to this piece several times through, I really like it that much.
I guess the reason I don't care for the break, is where it is. I was really getting into the opening part, and then all of a sudden I'm cut off. I think the break can work, but maybe a little later on. Everything after the break is great, too, but I just wasn't ready to let go of that cool opening bit.

Nice! I did like the break where it is :D I think you have some good Ideas here. I think of this more like a sketch, but it could lead to something pretty cool. I can't find any fault with the recording at all, great job. BTW what are you recording with and playing now :?: --the dog
Thanks Dog. Currently I'm using a Line 6 Toneport UX1 with an Intel iMac 1.8Ghz core Duo and Garageband. Hence the amp emulation. I'm waiting for Cubase to come out with a Universal Binary version. Until then, I'll stick with GB.
The cool thing about the Toneport is that it allows you to set the type of mic and distance from the speaker. So you can add as much of the "room" as you like. Giving it a pretty natural sound. There's lot's of room to make presets and I have to say that setting up your own tones on a 17" screen is much easier than it is on a 2 x 6 cm LCD. or LED screen.
I have no mics so you are all spared of my singing. :P
wow, i need to practice more....
