**DISCLAIMER**
This song was written a long time ago. I did not write it, nor do I wish to get into any discussions on it's content. It is family friendly. Please do not turn it into ANYTHING!!!!
* end of disclaimer****

An old ZZ Top song called Jesus Just Left Chicago. It's a form of 12-bar Blues with a ton of Rock and Gospel thrown in.

The sing is titled, "Someone Really HUGE Jest Left Chicago" in efforts to avoid bad, evil copyright police. It is a Guitar Pro exported drum and bass line. The Lead, Rhythm Guitar and VOX was done by me.....poorly.

It was fun though.

Constructive comments welcome. No jerks please. First thing I've published in a while. Taking quite a journey going from strummy songs to some real Rockin' stuff.

And all apologies for fewer takes than needed. I can't take a whole lot of this singing stuff. (physical head woes) Oh, and I could not figure out how to end the bass and drum tracks gracefully. Apologies to that end as well. I also assure you that my guitar was in tune. This is really how badly I stink at lead.

8) steppin' out Roy. I know it's ZZTop but ZZing out sounds funny.
critique: tighten up the rhythm section. it gets out of sync at times and the soong sounds confusimg. around 2:19..around there
things work nice and the vocals then work. the bass and drum have this dada dada thing going. the grunge rhythm guitar swings back and forth over it; nice counter beat there. to my ears, when those three things aren't tight, the heavy dada beat falls down. when it's tight it creates space or headroom for the vocals and lead guitar to play with the phrasing.
capice?
I like where you're going.

I think after several reads and re-playing that section of the song, I hear that spot. Clear as mountain Spring Water now that. Except on mine, it was like 10 seconds later. That whacky soundclick player.

30 minutes pass.....

...and problem found. Hardware and/or software hiccups. (sound familiar, like I've messed another one up before this one, Boxboy?  ) Yeah, my concept for that part of Guitar Pro's usage is faulty. Back to drawing boards. Thanks for catching. I would have caught on that something was off had I done my sanity check.

Lead Guitar Topic Switch Time:
A self Critique, if I might. I just parts of it again after taking a few hour break. I don't care for my Vibrato. My leads most often are resolved, with exceptions of course as I am entering month 9 of lead playing. I think my Vibrato feels like I'm over doing it sometimes, but sounds flat as if not done at all. Has anyone got anything they can say about that if they've listened? I can't quite figure it out. It just plain sounds flat and boring at times. Less-than-great phrasing at times, yes, but that's not all of it.

And that folks, is how dogbite tries to keep me busy for the rest of the year.

I did do a reasonable slide effort on Rollin' and Tumblin Saturday. That's another story for another day.

It is not easy to play all the instruments and perform the mix. It has a lot of work!

Many congrats Roy!
