walters,
it's time to come clean.
The more you post, the more obvious it becomes that you have little or no idea of sound recording. It is equally apparent, in my mind at least, that you are simply taking things out of some document or other (probably the operating instructions for one of your expensive toys) and asking for them to be explained. How much actual experience do you have? What book is it you're getting all this technical jargon from?
Some of the things that you're asking us to explain would be solved by experimentation, if you had any idea about the subject - although if you did have any idea, you wouldn't need to be asking.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't some sort of flame - you're just not being honest with us.
To put things into perspective - how many of your 85 or so posts have not been questions?
Do you actually play guitar? how long? What sort of gear do you have? Can we hear a sample of your playing that you have recorded?
Use a compressor and turn the setting up high enough will give you a breathing effect.
