i have a boss micro br recorder

the things i record on that. do they have to stay there?
i can convert to mp3 or wav and import onto a pc. but that limits things like being able to use pitch correction etc.
is there a boss program that allows you greater recording freedom than just the micro br's abilities?

can i import into sony acid or some program like that and continue editing?

thanks

you can import all types of files into a recording program.

I have the Boss Micro BR too. The filetypes don't work with anything else on a PC, so you need to record in mp3 mode to be able to do much with it..

The the proprietory Boss file format is NOT compressed then you will want to convert to wav. You want to maintain the best resolution you possibly can until you do your final mix. MP3 is a lossy format. Once you convert, you will never recover any loss in quality.
